The BLUE Cobalt Iodized Salt Block by Champion's Choice for cattle, sheep and goats is a really good product. Most all goat blocks have some cobalt but the Blue block is the one to offer if you have a goat that is having trouble keeping weight on in spite of clear fecal testing and no obvious illness or disease.
This last year one of my retired does has battled worms and in the summer Poke poisoning. She is now over the problems and on to a full recovery. In my research I discovered one of the things ruminating animals need is Cobalt and when there is a deficiency they can not readily utilize the food they eat. During the last few months I added the Blue Cobalt block to her stall in addition to her Billy Block as it has 100ppm of Cobalt compared to small amounts in the other product. The doe is putting weight on, she's perky, athletic enough to jump a ditch, eyes and demeanor bright. After all we have been through this fall I really think this block helped her and is worth mentioning for other goat owners. Strange thing though and I don't know why but farm stores make people ask for this block instead of setting them out. They are Blue in color and have the sticker label mentioned in the thread title.
