Be prepared to make some adjustments or do some cleaning when you find out if leaves and other debris get caught up in the panel. I have a similar arrangement and when the water is high in the winter it catches all sorts of stuff. But I think you're headed in the right direction.
I have the same set up. Now and then the dirt on either side washes out and needs packed back. Also during the Soltice it has to be checked every day due to the Turtles getting stopped from going to do their egg thing. The really large ones can't get through and they need the fence lifted. If you have them and they go in the wrong direction you can just take a sapling stick and tap the shell until you steer them right. Mine snap and are as big as a wheelbarrow. One did not get thru and he died in the heat because he went the wrong way and no one found him in time. So good to check. Also be aware that they can bite the teats off of livestock. When it rains it also has to be cleared of sticks now and then. My goats don't go near it when it's wet. They don't like getting their feet wet.
