I have a three month old buckling with a pot belly.
Little bit of back information- I took part of herd to a show and a few days afterwards they all came down with a upper respiratory infection. The vet came out and put them on some antibiotics. This little guy had it the worst.
He still has a little bit of a dry cough and now he's gotten extremely pot bellied, I wormed him last night with ivermectin. Any other ideas as to what I can do for him?
Two of my other Does now have loose stool, they had no change in diet. I've given them baking soda free choice and electrolytes. Should I treat for coccida?
I'm sorry you are dealing with this. We had similar issues after a 4-h show one year. Have you considered having a fecal done to see just what is going on. It does sound like worms or cocci but treating with the correct meds will save time and money and maybe the goats. Is there any off color to the stools or blood in them? Are they running fevers? These are things your vet may want to know.
