About a week ago I put my doe in a pen because I noticed she is raising fat kids but was starting to lose weight and wanted to give her some extras. Yesterday morning I let her out but kept her kids in so she could eat some grass. At that time I noticed that her poop was not pellets and had plans to worm her that night. I kept putting her back in to feed her kids and then letting her back out to eat. A couple of hours before dark I put her back in gave her her grain (wet cob), I didn't latch the gate well and they got out. When it was time for everyone to go to bed she was still eating grass and didn't want to come in, I figured she would prob get picked on so left her out. This morning she was fine, waiting at the gate for her friends to come out. I went out a couple of hours later and heard this groaning and she was laying in one of the stalls. She looked dehydrated so got her some water, she acted very thirsty but only took a few gulps. I took the water away and looked at the inside of her eyes, and the part around her actual eye ball is all sunk in, I put the bucket of water back in front of her and she acted very thirsty again but did not drain. I gave her some nutri drench and wormed her, then went to the store and got milk of magnesia. I then drenched her with that and some water and gave her a shot of prevail (rx the vet gave me for pain with a c section doe) She can get up on her own but groans in pain as she breaths (standing or not). Any ideas as to what is going on? Is it actually from eating too much grass? Any ideas on what else I should do?
