My little doeling is scouring a bit, almost watery scours. kind of a dark caramel color-not black or green. Started yesterday. We wormed her with ivermectin(zimectrin) and started a round of Albon yesterday morning. Also have her on Goats Prefer brand probiotics- started that about 4-5 hours after wormed/albon. Last evening she seemed to firm up a little bit, then scoured again over the course of the night/this morning. We've been keeping her clean to be sure of what's coming out of her. Still very good appetite, but seems very slightly less energetic than normal. Still pretty bouncy and active though, just not as much as her normal self. Both her and her brother are still nursing from mom on occasion. She was wormed yesterday also, as was her brother(albon too). Gonna keep close eye on her today and probably get some knox gelatin in her this afternoon(when my wife gets home from work!) How much gelatin should i try and get in her? Also any other recommendations? Just surprised she still has splats normally the above arsenal keeps it at bay. How long should albon take to get workin, if the coccidia should be the problem? Been almost exactly 24 hours from now since first treatment

would love to hear how your little goat is. I am concerned about my buckling who has had scours now for a week and fading fast. We did the albon, vit b complex shots, pediolyte karo syrup and water, even goat serum for immune defiency. now he doesnt even eat, except the effort to keep him dehydrated. I am heartsick. How did the gelatin work for you? How is the goat now?

Maggie give your buck a dose of baytril (4.5cc/100#). I had a doe that had severe scours due to a worm problem and the vet explained to me about bacteria and what not (long story and i'm a lazy typer) anyways we gave her one dose of baytril and 5cc twice a day of slippery elm and it cleared up the scours. Make sure you start probios or yogurt the day after baytril.
Sorry for the delayed reply guys. Juno is great, back to her rambunctious self. Hope your buckling is getting better mags. I can't say whether one thing worked over the other because we gave her everything for several days. She hated us for a week after the whole ordeal LOL. We gave her an arsenal of gelatin, cinamin, pedialyte, probios, albon. She didn't firm up immediately but she never really got super watery either, maybe that can be accredited to the gelatin. Hope all is well, and thanks to everyone who helped!
