Welcome to Goatwisdom jdenney3 !!!!!!
Give it just as you would a human, but as farmmom Amy said you need to find the reason for the diarrhea because the peptobismol can help the diarrhea, but not the sickness causing it.Have you switched feeds, increased feed, put it on new pasture, wormed it lately, etc.?Is it a lone goat or in a herd? Is it acting sick? Temperature (rectal)?Bloated?Off feed?Sorry so many questions, but needed to help out.
a fecal is a must and when determined the cause of diarrhea-look at the reference tab here and find the recipe posted by Brandywine.. she definately turned many of us on to it if you are in a location to stock up on the health food store supplies.. I used her recipe the one and only time I ever had a goat with diarrhea and within 2 days she was 100%- I did have a fecal done to rule out nasty little critters though...
Green is most likely E- coli , but I treat for coccdi and e-coli both when I have a problem. Doses and meds can be found in the one click refrence section , and Mwell is correct Brandywine has some great natural cures as well.
Who turned on the eletric fence without telling me? X#!
