a week or so ago little billy had the scoots real bad. Then after a few days he cleared right up and no problems until now . i had him debudded last night and the lady also put a rubber band on his ...... u know haha. he was alittle cranky last night but fine this morning . I get home tonight and he has REALLY bad diarrhea again . could this be from the debudding and the rubber band. (just not feeling to good ) or not?? thanks
Young goats should be given a tetanus antitoxin shot with disbudding or tetanus can set in very quickly. Take the little guys temp and if up give a little ibuprofen 1cc per 10lbs. IF he has tetanus it will be very hard to save him. You also need to get the scours stopped. This baby can go down hill very quickly. What antibiotics do you have onhand? How watery are the scours? Andi
It may also be his rumen is out of wack from the stress. natural yougart and cinnimon will help if that is what it is , also could be coccdi stress tends to let it set in as well.Green splats tends to be E-coli , black tends to be coccdi , treatments for scours are listed in the one click refrence.
Who turned on the eletric fence without telling me? X#!
Iam thinking it was the stress. He seems fine today. It still a little runny but not as bad as before. He seems to be his bouncy self again anyways, so thats a good sign. I feed him 13 oz 3 times a day with a little top up of 6 oz a few hours before his night feeding. and hes almost 3 weeks i think ? i have had him for almost 2 weeks now. Hes a pet so i had him debudded and had the band put on him so he cant do any monkey buzz with the other goats . thanks for the replies

Add knox unflavored gelatin to the bottles 1/3-1/2 of an envelope to thicken things up.Pay attention to the color as Donnie said. And cinnamon is great for doing a digestive and colon cleansing, also aids digestion.
