hello, been looking at this site, and was wondering whether l could get some advice, had goats for a number of years, but only girls for the last 2 yrs, we have had 3 babies this year which are really wonderful, but when l went to milk mum tonight, she was laying down, she looked as if she had, had a stroke, could any body put some light over for me, or some good advice would really appreicate any many thanks pol
hello, she dont seem to have a temperture, and her bag is warm and her milk has been fine up to day, l couldnt get her to her feet eariler to check, but her eyes are rolling round. the reason l;m thinking on stroke, saw my dog have one years ago. just hope it isnt some thing l'm doing wrong. thanks for responding so quick
will she get up with assistance at all-- may take more than one person to get her up is she neurologically responding appropriatly? Such as the blink reflex, can you rub her lashes and get a response or when you make a loud noise does she respond? How are her pulses-- strong, thready, galloping? Does she have a pain response? Can she focus on you or does she look past you and unable to hold a gaze? So sorry for all of the questions, I am just trying to put the puzzle together in my mind...
hi all thank you very much for welcoming me to the board. it's so nice to be able to talk to people about goats,as not many people have a clue about them. l had the vet out today and he said he thought she had meningitis, l have to ring the vets in the morning to see if any change. its going to be a long night thanks again pol
