Has any one used this spray? Permectrin 2 . I have only in the summer time for ticks & lice.. And you mix it with water.. But our goats have ticks now, but too cold to spray them, Can you use this full strength and put it from top of head to tip of tail.. I appreciate any feed back .. If you have used in full strength at what dose did you use..
missourigal life is like a box of chocolate's you never know which one you will get !!!!!!
I have the ready to use formula(already mixed) not the concentrate. I have used it like frontline and applied it in a line down their backs. They didn't show any adverse reactions to it. Can you mix it up like you would for a spray and use it that way?
The ticks are going to be bad this year. Even with all the ice and really low temps we had. They are already out, saw one climbing up the toggs leg. She wasn't happy with me when I caught her to dispose of it

I haven't seen any ticks yet down here but y'all are freaking me out. It's too early for them up north, for sure, and too early down here to have to worry about it. If they are already out, this could be another one of those horrible years that ticks do every few decades. One year, we had ticks crawling all over the farm. They were on the horses, the dogs, even Piggy got one. Nothing would fight them. Not Frontline, or any pesticides. So, we bought our first guinneas and within a month they were gone. My mother told me that many years ago, there was a year when the ticks went crazy like that. It was back in the 1950s. Even the newspapers were reporting it as a huge invasion. The ticks were crawling up the walls in people's houses and my Mom said the neighbor's dog was killed by them. The neighbors went to bed with the puppy on the screened in porch on a rug and in the morning, it was dead and covered with ticks all over. I hate ticks. They ikk me out. I always worry that another year like the one Mom talks about will come. I can't stand ticks and it makes my skin crawl just to see one. When I had to take them off my dogs in that one bad year, I was so grossed out, I had nightmares. I have to order some more guineas. My last guinea just kicked the bucket from old age a couple weeks ago.
YUP their out. I remember years like that angelsprite and I am NOT THAT old. I have seen them so thick they crawl on walls, sidewalks, poles...etc. I don't have guineas but I do have a rooster that stays really fat in the spring and summer. Last year it was grasshoppers and katydids, this year its ticks. I spray the dog and the areas he sleeps but I hesitate to spray pens where the goats are so I treat them.

I spent six months in a bug lab, working for the venerable Dr. Sweet at Texas A&M. I liked him a lot because he never asked me to work on ticks or roaches, and he was just the nicest person. Both of I feel the same way about ticks and roaches, they both give me the creeps.
