New goat owner, my oldest pygmy (8 years) has a runny nose with green discharge, wondering if I should medicate, if so with what. The weather is getting colder, is he not warm enough? His eyes look normal, just the nose, and the others seem fine. TIA!

Try using some VetRx in your goats nose. Just use a few drops a couple of times a day and see if this helps clear it up. If not, you may need to use an antibiotic. You can get the VetRx at most farm supply stores. If you can't find it for goats, get some for poultry or rabbits, it's all the same thing. It is herbal.
Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
They are still on block minerals because I am having a hard time finding the sweetlix near me (northern ohio) any suggestions as to where to get it online would be greatly appreciated! Hopefully if I can find it that will fix it, I dont want to medicate unless it is really really necessary, but I think I will get some of the VetRx to keep on hand.
Sweet lix is a great mineral and I am lucky to have it available to me in my area BUT.......... just about any loose mineral is better than a block and would be a place to start while you look for the best mineral. Most farm stores carry loose mineral for cattle which will work for goats until you can find something better...... check with your local feed store they most likely have something. As long as they are not running a fever the vet RX should do the trick.
